VOTE JOHN FLUNDER FOR MAYOR OF LONDON

THE ONLY CANDIDATE REPRESENTING SENIORS

My name is John Flunder, I am a very young 78, extremely active, and “Proud to be a Senior”.  I was born in Newham and have lived in London all my life, for the last 51 years with my wife, Doreen.  I am a longstanding member of the Bexley Pensioners Forum and edit their regular newsletter.  Most recently I have organised a campaign against the “Londoners Only” Olympic tax, which increases the already much too high Council Tax for Londoners throughout the next 10-12 years, and makes us responsible for a share of any losses.  This is most unfair.  The Olympic Games is for the whole of the UK and should be paid for by the Government, ie by all taxpayers, as it was in 1948, not just by those who happen to live in London as dictated by our current Mayor, Ken Livingstone.  Most pensioners in London are struggling to survive on woefully inadequate pensions, and the constantly rising Council Tax, which has doubled in the last ten years.  If there has to be an additional Olympic Tax, then it should be nationwide, and based on people’s ability to pay, so that the rich pay more.  I recently presented a petition signed by 8500 Londoners to our MP, David Evennett, and I shall continue to fight this totally unfair imposition throughout the next 10-12 years, and I hope you will support me.

I recently discovered the Senior Citizens Party, which aims to represent the needs and concerns of the 20.6 million Seniors, age 50 or over, some 2 million live in London.  You may not have heard of them because despite having thousands of members, they have very little money and cannot afford expensive adverts and publicity brochures, so they have to rely on word of mouth.  They have invited me to stand for Mayor of London and I have agreed, because I believe that all Seniors, most of whom are disillusioned with both the Conservative and Labour Parties, should have the opportunity to vote for their own party.  Please support me by sending an email to my Campaign Manager, Grahame Leon-Smith (grahame.leon-smith@seniorcitizensparty.org.uk) or telephone him on 01932 847303.  Yours very sincerely, John Flunder, Senior Candidate for Mayor of London.
